GET Signage, along with our sister company, Signs of Change, has recently broadened our product offering, to include digital signage solutions.

Our initial foray into digital signage was through our long time and valued customer, The Beer Store. In a pilot project at the Stouffville Beer Store, the static “beer wall” has been replaced with four LCD screens that display all pricing for Premium, Imported and Discount beer brands, with a 5th screen highlighting all brands currently On Sale. 

The Beer Store utilises our PTOS web application for printed price tickets (see the case study here). As part of our recent update to PTOS, we modified the application to also be able to deliver current pricing information in digital format to the appropriate screens, rather than reprinting and shipping printed price tickets each week. What is Digital Signage?

Digital Signage can mean many different things.  Common applications include: 

  • Digital Menu Board
  • Targeted marketing messages
  • Infotainment
  • Wayfinding

Digital signage is an electronic delivery system (utilizing computers, the internet, and flat panel displays) to deploy targeted marketing messages to customers or employees. Digital signage can replace or augment conventional signage programs.

Key components include:

  • Digital content (html, flash, video, images, RSS feeds, etc.)
  • Presentation management and scheduling of content
  • Content delivery through the internet
  • Media players (special purpose computer appliances) and flat panel screens

There are many compelling reasons to consider digital signage to replace or augment you traditional signage programs, including:

  • Enhanced customer perception of your organization and brand
  • The ability to day part, or schedule content to display based on the time of day, to target messaging specific to your clientele throughout the day
  • Ensure store level compliance with signage change outs, as the predefined content is delivered automatically, based on schedules that you define
  • Increased revenues and reduced costs
  • Human nature – todays society is predisposed to seek information from screens (TV, Internet, computers, tablets, smartphones).  Images that change, move, or attract attention are more likely to be taken in than static signage
